This matrix is made, to give you an overview on a software upgrade, on your own system. Even if your system doesn’t match a scenario 100%, you will still be able to use the matrix. This will help you plan the maintenance and shorten your downtime.

All software versions have been uploaded to the TDX preliminary to the update process.

Test and Timing

Each box represents a TDX system, with frontend (input) and backend (output) modules. The process is tested on each scenario. Each process is timed.

The update process is executed as described below:

  1.  TDX with software version 1.16.1.27324 and scenario specific setup is ready.
  2. Timer activated and update to version 2.3.1.30912 initiated.
  3. TDX evaluated after update. Update to 3.3.1.35236 initiated.
  4. TDX evaluated after update. Update to latest 4.x initiated.
  5. TDX evaluated after update, timer stopped.

Conclusion

The following table shows the Average Time Consumption for each update, from one version to the next. The total time consumption, from 1.16 to 4.x is given in parentheses. Please note, that these are averages. They can vary. This is the timeslot, that the technician will use to upgrade the system (without any errors). Software upload and PID remapping is not included!

SW
Scenario 1 and 2
Scenario 3
1.16.1.27324 -> 2.3.1.30912
~ 7-10 min ~ 15-20 min
2.3.1.30912 -> 3.3.1.35136 ~ 7-10 min ~ 15-20 min
3.3.1.35136 -> Latest 4.x ~ 7-10 min (Total: ~ 21-30 min) ~ 15-20 min (Total: ~ 45-60 min)

Be Adviced!

After first reboot,there is a risk of the PID mapping will change. So from the first reboot through the update process to software 4.x, there will be a risk for no services on the TV’s. This will occur, if the TV doesn’t comply to the DVB standard and doesn’t recognize the SID numbering.
