DO NOT DISCONNECT CONTROLLER / ENDPOINT FROM
POWER SUPPLY OR COAX NETWORK DURING THIS PROCESS!
(During the software update, the 'signal' LED on the endpoints will flash. When the update is done, the 'signal' LED will be solid)
Before upgrading/downgrading the EoC controller, please read this article about software versions.
This article describes, how to update both the EoC Controller and the connected endpoints:
Guidelines regarding software upgrade on EoC
This procedure is for both the EoC Controller (64/4) and the EoC Controller (32/2) system.
Updating the software should be done in "major revision" steps.
This means, that updating the software from ie:
- sw0.0.r53 to sw2.0.1.r87 requires you to update to sw1.3.1.r66 before updating to sw2.0.1.r87.
- sw2.0.1.r87 to sw3.0.21 requires you to update to sw2.9.1.r179 before updating to sw3.0.21.
Note: If you replace a controller in a production environment, you would prefer to install a controller running on the same software version as the one you are replacing. If you install a controller running on a software version higher OR lower than the running controller, the endpoint will acquire the version on the connected controller, resulting in an upgrade or downgrade!
Remember: If you connect a new endpoint, it will automatically be upgraded/downgraded to the same version, as the controller.
sw0.x, sw1.x & sw2.x Status page
During the update from sw0.0.r53 -> sw1.3.1.r66 -> sw2.0.1.r87 the GUI will display the following screen when performing the update of the controller. This may take a while and you need to be patient.
sw3.x Status page
The status page ofsw3.x has been improved and will now show you more details during the software update.
