NOTE:  The reset function is slightly different on controllers/endpoints running sw. v. 2.x and 3.x

Controller Reset

Sw. v. 2.x

The controller reset button has 3 functions:

  • A. When controller is running, a short press (< 3 sec) will reboot the controller.
  • B. When controller is running, a long press (>3 sec) will reset the controller to factory settings.

On HW revision 04 and newer the status/power LED will start alternating between green and orange, while the process is ongoing.

    • all configuration changes are revoked back to default.
    • SW version installed will not be affected.
  • C. When controller is OFF, a press on the reset button + powering up at the same time; will make a SW recovery.
On HW revision 04 and newer the status/power LED will start blinking red, and then turn solid red while the process is ongoing. Wait until the LED turns solid green
    • SW will be overwritten to original SW (controller has a copy of original SW)
    • all configuration changes are revoked back to default.

Sw. v. 3.x

The controller reset button has 3 functions:

  • A. When the controller is running, a short press (< 3 seconds) will reboot and re-initialize the EoC out (G.hn) ports, without rebooting the entire controller. The LEDs of the EoC out ports will turn solid orange for a short while.

  • B. When the controller is running, holding the button for 3-10 seconds and releasing, will reboot the entire controller. The status/power LED will indicate when to release the button, by blinking orange in a slow pace (500ms on/off). (Note: LED of HW revision 03 and older will always be solid green.)

  • C. When the controller is running, holding the button for 10+ seconds and releasing, will reset the controller to factory default settings. The status/power LED will indicate when to release the button, by blinking orange in a fast pace (100ms on/off). (Note: LED of HW revision 03 and older will always be solid green.)

End Point Reset

SW v. 2.x:

The EPC/EPE endpoint reset button has 2 functions:

  • A. When the endpoint is running, a short press (< 3 sec) will reboot the endpoint.
  • B. When the endpoint is running, a long press (>3 sec) will reset the endpoint to factory settings.

The WiFi LED will indicate when to release the button, by blinking in a slow pace (500ms on/off).

    • all configuration changes are revoked back to default.
    • SW version installed will not be affected.

SW v. 3.x:

The endpoint reset button has 3 functions:

  • A. When the endpoint is running, a short press (< 3 seconds) will turn on the LEDs (they are automatically turned off after 15 min.)

  • B. When the endpoint is running, holding the button for 3-10 seconds and releasing, will reboot the endpoint. The LEDs will indicate when to release the button, by blinking in a slow pace (500ms on/off).

(Note: On EPC/EPE only the status and WiFi LEDs are used for the indication, not the signal (G.hn) LED.)

  • C. When the endpoint is running, holding the button for 10+ seconds and releasing, will reset the endpoint to factory default settings. The LEDs will indicate when to release the button, by blinking in a fast pace (100ms on/off)

(Note: On EPC/EPE only the status and WiFi LEDs are used for the indication, not the signal (G.hn) LED.)
