When replacing TMM equipment with the new TMS Legacy Range there are several considerations to review

Key Points to note:

  • TMM relied on 12V Powering on the Terrestrial Trunk to Output Terrestrial on its Consumer Ports - TMS does NOT pass DC on the Terrestrial Trunk
  • TMM allowed 12V Line Powering to a Mast Head Amplifier. With the reduction in the use of Mast Head Amplifiers in the Digital Age this is not a feature on the new TMS Legacy range and a separate 12V Mast Head Power Supply will be required. NB: TRIAX recommend the use of a signal processor such as our TMB1700/TMB2500 to filter, level and amplify off-air Terrestrial prior to IRS distribution. The use of Mast Head Amplifiers in IRS should be avoided.
  • When replacing a TMM switch with a TMS cascade switch you will also need a Splitter or Tap
