It is important to identify the User Bands that the dSCR Multiswitch or DCSS LNB is compatible with.
The TRIAX TdSCR 906 C is most commonly used with the TDcH and TDmH Headends as it is the most versatile Multiswitch for multi-satellite operation and the User Bands available for use from the Multiswitch are printed on the front of the unit.
There are toggle & rotary switches on the Multiswitch which are required to be set to the correct position prior to configuring the Headend:
- The "Q" / "Wideband" toggle switch to the left side of the switch must be in the appropriate position for the LNBs that are connected to the switch - ie; Quattro or Wideband.
- The "G" / "I" toggle switch on the side is recommended to be set to "I" (Preset 2 in the TDcH/TDmH is compatible with "I" which means you will not need to manually enter all the User Bands)
- The rotary switch on the front of the Multiswitch needs to be set to EN50607.
These settings provide the maximum versatility and access to all Satellites at the input for up to 10 UBs (Frequencies/multiplexes/TPs) at each of the 6 Outputs of the Multiswitch.
As a TDcH only has 16 Tuners, all 16 Tuners can easily be sourced from just 2 x physical Inputs on the TDcH or all 8 from a single physical input on a TDmH.
Here is an example of the Headend configuration used with the above settings for 2 x Satellites on just 2 x Physical Inputs of a TDcH utilizing all 16 x Tuners:
